XNAT Expert – Technical Project Manager

XNAT Works is seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager with XNAT expertise to lead and coordinate advanced biomedical imaging and data management projects across research and clinical environments.

This role is ideal for someone who understands both the technical architecture of XNAT and the operational demands of large-scale imaging programs, clinical trials, AI initiatives, and secure research infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead technical implementation and deployment projects involving XNAT platforms and imaging infrastructure
• Coordinate with researchers, hospitals, clinical trial teams, and technical stakeholders
• Manage project timelines, deliverables, risks, and communication across multiple initiatives
• Oversee XNAT configuration, integrations, upgrades, and workflow optimization
• Support imaging data lifecycle management including ingestion, anonymization, QC, archive, and sharing workflows
• Coordinate technical teams including developers, DevOps, infrastructure engineers, and imaging specialists
• Assist with regulated and secure environments supporting HIPAA, GDPR, GCP, and 21 CFR Part 11 aligned workflows
• Translate business and research requirements into technical execution plans
• Facilitate customer onboarding, requirements gathering, documentation, and training
• Support cloud and on-premise infrastructure planning and scaling strategies
• Drive successful delivery of complex imaging informatics projects from kickoff through production support

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with XNAT administration and architecture
• Experience managing technical or software implementation projects
• Understanding of DICOM workflows, PACS integrations, and imaging research environments
• Familiarity with:
  • Linux systems
  • Docker / containerized workflows
  • PostgreSQL
  • Tomcat
  • AWS or cloud infrastructure
  • REST APIs and system integrations
• Knowledge of biomedical imaging research, clinical trials, or healthcare IT environments
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
• Experience working with distributed technical teams and international collaborators is a plus
